I find it pretty funny that since I'm not bitching about my love life I have nothing to write about on here!
Yesterday in point form:
- Hangover
- Free beer at the lounge with sweet friends
- Awesome show at Sloth
- Awesome show at a church - climbed a ladder up to the bell!
- Wine with my friends in dresses
- Okkervil River and Langhorn Slim at the Legion - ruled!
- Everyone being so haggard that it was beautiful.
The sense of community I"m feeling this week as I walk from venue to venue with friends while drinking brews on the street that we snuck from the lounge is overwhelming! I'm absolutely happy and I cannot believe I'm going to see Wire play at such an intimate venue tonight!
I think that the best moment of last night was when I asked Duncan to get me a water from the bar and he returned with a clear liquid which I drank half of before noticing it was a gin/tonic. I also enjoyed the free beer for watching the liquor store while the clerk chased after a thief.
Waking up to this message from a friend was also sweet:
"Don't lose the cheeks. I was serious and my main strength and ultimate downfall is that I'm tooo analytical.
If I was to get down and serious about you, it's why I like you. You have full cheeks and you look friendly and approachable. It's the source of your success!"
I'm currently at work so I figured I should do a quick update. In the last week I:
- Suffered a technological breakdown. My computer died, and my iPod and camera were destroyed when I spilled a drink in the purse I was carrying them in. Luckily my parents offered to pay for the repair on the camera. I purchased a new macbook which was delivered today and received a free iPod as part of my purchase.
- Went on a work retreat. Drank a lot with my coworkers and enjoyed being paid for relaxing in the mountains. Still haven't told them that I'll be leaving at the end of summer.
- Decided I wanted to start acting like more of an adult and failed miserably!
- Received a creepy call from a guy who got my number from my friend. Currently not speaking to that friend - a shining example of how grown up I am.
My plans for this weekend are as followed: tonight I'm staying in for a bit to play on my new computer and then going dancing around midnight, tomorrow I'm going to enjoy the park across from my apartment with Duncan and Tom, tomorrow night I'm drinking boones and going to a show and then a housewarming party, Sunday I'm going hiking.
My boss is gone until July 3rd so I'm thinking of webcasting from my office next week!
I've been toying, for the past two weeks, with the idea of deleting this blog. Things in my life are going really well and I afraid of another incident like the one that occurred first thing in the new year. After weighing my options I have decided to continue.
